Many of us grew up enjoying this beloved riced-based snack: the cheesy dust on our fingertips as we reached into the bag, the unmistakable twisted shape, and the satisfying crunch with every bite. With over 50 years in production, Twistees has become a legacy.
Founded in 1969 and with 50+ years on the market, Twistees recognised the need for a refresh to stay relevant in the extremely competitive food and beverage industry. The client entrusted us with a strategic rebrand: to preserve the brand’s iconic recognition while aligning it with today’s market trends.
Starting with the mascot, we focused on subtle enhancements to preserve its original essence. We recognised the mascot’s significance in maintaining consistency and honoring the strong connection locals have formed with it over the years. We wanted people to reconnect with Twistees the way they did as kids, preserving the nostalgia that makes this snack so special. So, our goal was to strike a perfect balance between timeless appeal and relevance.
Twistees was among the first snacks in Malta to be baked rather than fried – a commitment that continues to this day along with using no artificial ingredients or colourings. The taste, the crunch, and that iconic cheesy dust? Still just as you remember.
What’s new? A refreshed look, a vibrant color palette, and exciting new flavours—designed to better position Twistees in a snack market bursting with competition. New flavours are slowly being introduced to the market such as:
